The sound of Earth is changing. It’s happening right now, this very minute and scientists are scratching their heads while gurus and transcendentalists are preparing.
So… there is this natural phenomenon called the Schumann Resonances, named for physicist Winfried Otto Schumann who accurately predicted them back in 1952; yet weren’t actually detected until 1960. They are “global electromagnetic resonances, generated and excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere.” (Wikipedia) They exist because the surface of the earth and the conductive properties of the ionosphere perform as a “Waveguide” and this waveguide acts as a resonant cavity for electromagnetic waves in the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) range. There is all sorts of scientific and technical information on Schumann Resonances which is way beyond my pay grade. But what is most interesting about the phenomenon is the frequency at which these resonances “broadcast”; with slight variations they have remained steady at 7.83 Hz. This number is meaningful because it is the frequency that ancient Indian Rishis called OM. It is the sound of Earth. It is the frequency that is closely correlated to Human brainwave activity, the alpha and theta states.
In 2014 Russian monitoring systems observed a spike in the frequency to 8.5 Hz and since then other spikes were recorded at 16.5 Hz. On January 31st, 2017 the Schumann Resonances reached 36 Hz. Originally these readings were thought to be anomalies in the recording equipment but independent correlations from multiple sources said differently.
What does this mean? Does it mean that the Earth is changing, that we are changing? Could it be evolution? It has long been speculated that human consciousness can impact and cause disturbances in the magnetic fields, especially during periods of anxiety, tension and passion.
A 7.8 Hz frequency is an Alpha/Theta state associated with being relaxed and dreamy, waiting for something to happen. At 8.5 – 16.5 Hz one moves out of the theta range into a calmer alpha state and faster more alert beta frequencies start to appear. The higher the frequency the more “awake” we become. As Mother Earth shifts her vibrational frequencies, perhaps we are too. Associated with this phenomenon could be the feelings of time speeding up, exhaustion, dizziness, and depression as our bodies adjust to the new frequencies.
It should be noted that scientists have reported Earth’s Magnetic field weakening over the past 2000 years, and even more so in the past few years, which can have an effect on Schumann Frequencies. The real question is why is it happening? Being that we humans haven’t been around for very long in the history of the Earth, we cannot be sure that such fluctuations aren’t a natural occurrence in the long life cycle of the planet. Yet it doesn’t mean there is no significance in the phenomenon and that, as the planets inhabitants, we haven’t made an impact on it, or it on us.
According to Indian Sages the Earth’s magnetic field was put into place by the Ancient Ones to block primordial or past life memories so that humans could better learn from life and truly experience free will without knowledge of the past. Perhaps the weakening of the magnetic fields is loosening those barriers and raising our consciousness to greater truths. Seems like a winning theory to me, besides if that’s so, it couldn’t be happening at a better time in our human history.
